The Story of the ADV160

This adventure-styled Honda scooter was introduced for the 2023 model year as a full redesign and replacement for the earlier ADV150. Honda positioned it as a tougher, more active take on the urban scooter formula, combining everyday commuting practicality with styling inspired by adventure and dual-sport cues. The nameplate launched with a new 156cc eSP+ engine, a revised frame, and updated bodywork that gave it a more assertive, modern look than its predecessor.

The ADV160 belongs to Honda’s broader ADV family, which grew out of the idea of giving scooter riders a more rugged image and a sense of exploration without moving away from step-through convenience. Compared with the ADV150, the 160 adopted a larger-displacement engine, lower seat height, improved wind protection, and added rider-assist features aimed at making it feel more refined and versatile in daily use. Its market identity is less about outright performance and more about blending city usability with a small-adventure personality.

Honda has kept the ADV160 in active production, and the model has continued to appear in the company’s motorcycle lineup and product library after launch. As a result, it should be treated as a current nameplate with no confirmed end year. In Honda’s history, it stands as the latest evolution of the ADV scooter concept rather than a separate short-lived variant or a revived older model.
