The Wide Glide name first appeared in Harley-Davidson’s lineup in 1980, but the Dyna-branded version debuted for the 1993 model year as part of the modern Dyna chassis family. It carried the classic Wide Glide look into the Dyna era, pairing the long, low custom stance with Harley-Davidson’s updated chassis architecture. Harley-Davidson’s own model-year references show the Dyna Wide Glide running from 1993 through 2008, then returning for 2010 through 2017, indicating a one-year gap in 2009 rather than one uninterrupted run. The model remained one of the signature Dyna customs until the entire Dyna family was retired after 2017, with several Dyna names later carried into the Softail line in 2018.
