This roadster was GM Daewoo’s Korean-market version of GM’s Kappa-platform two-seater sports car, imported from General Motors’ U.S. production and sold locally under a distinct Daewoo nameplate. It was introduced in Korea in 2007 and became notable as the brand’s first Korean-badged roadster, arriving as a compact, rear-wheel-drive sports car aimed at buyers who wanted an enthusiast-oriented alternative to mainstream domestic models. The vehicle was closely related to the Saturn Sky sold in North America and the Opel GT sold in Europe, sharing the same basic architecture and much of its exterior and mechanical identity. The nameplate’s public debut came before retail sales, with the car shown in Korea ahead of launch and then offered in the market from late 2007. The production run was brief, spanning model years 2007 and 2008 only, which has made it relatively uncommon and somewhat cult-status among Korean-market GM products. Its significance lies less in volume than in symbolism: it represented a rare attempt by Daewoo to market a true open-top sports car under its own badge, and it stands out as one of the most memorable niche models from the GM Daewoo era.
