Town and Country

This nameplate traces back to 1941, when it appeared on Chrysler’s premium wood-bodied wagons and related body styles. Production was interrupted during World War II, then resumed in the postwar era, giving the nameplate an early history that spans more than one distinct production run. After a long absence from the market, the name returned in 1990 as a luxury minivan for the 1990 model year, where it became one of Chrysler’s signature family vehicles. That minivan era ran through the 2016 model year, after which the vehicle was retired and effectively succeeded by the Pacifica. Because the nameplate was used in separate historical periods rather than one uninterrupted run, it should be treated as a multi-period model with an original prewar heritage and a later minivan revival.
