BMW Motorrad introduced the C 600 Sport as part of its first maxi-scooter line, created to bring a more motorcycle-like riding character to the urban scooter segment. It debuted alongside the C 650 GT and was positioned as the sportier, more agile choice in the pair, with BMW emphasizing commuting use, premium equipment, and a dynamic chassis concept rather than a conventional step-through scooter formula. The nameplate reached customers as a 2013 model in several markets, with BMW’s own regional materials identifying it as a 2013 model and the official market launch beginning in 2012.
The C 600 Sport represented BMW’s entry into a new category for the brand and stood out for its large-body scooter packaging, distinctive styling, and practical features aimed at everyday use in crowded cities. BMW also used the model to showcase new ideas in scooter design, including the FlexCase storage concept that expanded luggage capacity when parked.
During its short run, BMW kept the C 600 Sport in the spotlight with special and motorsport-themed editions, including 2013 and 2014 variants that underscored its sportier image. The model’s commercial life was brief, however. BMW Motorrad’s 2015 model-year announcements stated that the C 600 Sport would not be offered for 2015 and described 2014 as its last year, with no replacement in that lineup. As a result, the C 600 Sport is remembered as BMW’s original sporty maxi scooter and an important early step in the brand’s urban-mobility strategy.
