MODEL HISTORY

The Story of the SRViper

Introduced for the 2014 model year, this snowmobile marked Yamaha’s return to the sport segment with a new nameplate built around a modern four-stroke performance concept. It arrived during a period when Yamaha was broadening its snowmobile lineup through new product partnerships, and it quickly became the brand’s main trail-oriented performance platform. Over time, the range expanded into multiple body styles and trims, including trail and crossover variants, while retaining the same core identity as a high-performance, four-stroke sled. The nameplate remained in Yamaha’s North American lineup for more than a decade and was still offered for the 2025 model year, after which Yamaha ended snowmobile production as part of its withdrawal from the business. As a result, this nameplate represents one continuous production era from its 2014 debut through its 2025 final model year.
