The Story of the Kingpin Eight Ball

This blacked-out cruiser was Victory’s minimalist take on the Kingpin family, launched for the 2009 model year as an 8-Ball variant. It paired the Kingpin’s long, low chassis with simplified trim and darker styling cues, positioning it as a more stripped-down, value-oriented alternative to the standard Kingpin and related touring versions. The model retained the Kingpin’s classic American V-twin cruiser character while emphasizing clean lines, reduced ornamentation, and an understated factory-custom look.

The nameplate appears to have had a single, continuous production run rather than a stop-and-return history. Factory parts and service references place the model in the 2009 through 2011 model years, after which it disappeared from Victory’s lineup. Within Victory’s cruiser range, the 8-Ball badge signaled a base or darker-edition approach, and the Kingpin 8-Ball fit that formula by offering the Kingpin platform in a more austere, blacked-out presentation that appealed to riders who wanted the styling of a custom cruiser without the extra chrome and touring embellishment.
