MODEL HISTORY

The Story of the Trident 800

The Trident 800 is a new-for-2026 Triumph middleweight roadster that expands the brand’s modern naked-bike lineup. Triumph introduced it in late 2025 as an all-new model, with the first bikes scheduled to reach dealers in 2026. Positioned above the smaller Trident 660, it was developed to bring a stronger emphasis on real-world performance, a more aggressive roadster stance, and a distinctly triple-cylinder character.

Although the Trident name has deep roots in Triumph history, the Trident 800 is its own modern-era nameplate and should be understood as a separate, contemporary model rather than a continuation of the earlier 750cc Trident motorcycles. Triumph markets it as a compact, muscular roadster with stripped-back styling and rider-focused technology, aimed at riders who want a lively urban machine with enough refinement for everyday road use.

A key part of the model’s identity is its 798cc triple engine, which Triumph highlighted at launch as the centerpiece of the bike’s character. The company paired that engine with a lightweight chassis, adjustable suspension, and contemporary electronics to position the model as an accessible but premium-feeling roadster. In Triumph’s lineup, it sits within the company’s broader roadster family alongside models such as the Trident 660, Street Triple, and Speed Triple, but with its own distinct size, styling, and market role.

Because the Trident 800 is a newly introduced model with no known earlier production run under this exact nameplate, it is treated as beginning in model year 2026 and still in production.
