In Suzuki’s own history materials, the model is described as a 500 cc sports-utility ATV that fit between the smaller utility offerings and the later KingQuad flagship machines. It helped bridge Suzuki’s earlier ATV naming era and the more unified KingQuad era that followed.
For the 2009 model year, Suzuki revised its utility ATV lineup and replaced this nameplate with the KingQuad 500AXi branding. That change ended the original run of this model nameplate rather than continuing it under the same name. As a result, this ATV is best understood as a single continuous production period from the 2003 model year through the 2008 model year, before Suzuki rebranded the line under the KingQuad family.
