Introduced for the 2008 model year, this KingQuad 400 automatic expanded Suzuki’s utility ATV range in North America and other markets as a mid-size workhorse positioned below the larger 500 and 750 versions. It carried forward Suzuki’s long-running four-wheel ATV heritage and effectively replaced the earlier Eiger-era 400-class utility role with a more modern, fuel-injected package. The model’s name follows the KingQuad family established by Suzuki’s revived ATV line, and the 400ASi became the automatic-shift counterpart to the manual-shift 400FSi within the same platform family. Built around a compact single-cylinder engine and a fully automatic CVT with selectable 2WD/4WD operation, it was aimed at riders who wanted an approachable utility machine for farm, property, and general trail use rather than a high-performance sport ATV. Over time, the 400ASi remained a core part of Suzuki’s ATV lineup and has continued into the modern KingQuad range, with Suzuki still listing it among current production models.
