Introduced for the 2024 model year, this middleweight sport motorcycle marked Suzuki’s return to a fully faired street sport design built around the company’s newer parallel-twin platform. Suzuki unveiled it at EICMA in November 2023 and announced global sales beginning in January 2024. Rather than being a revival of an older nameplate, it is a new addition to the brand’s lineup, positioned as a more road-oriented sport model derived from the same engineering family as the GSX-8S.
The machine’s styling was developed to reference Suzuki’s sportbike heritage while presenting a modern, compact face and a more upright, usable riding position than a traditional supersport. Suzuki has described it as a model meant to handle commuting, winding roads and track use, reflecting a balanced sport focus rather than an extreme race-replica approach. In Suzuki’s global lineup, it sits as the faired counterpart to the GSX-8S and showcases the company’s newer 800-class twin-cylinder direction.
The nameplate has remained in regular production since launch, with Suzuki continuing to list later model-year versions on its global motorcycle site.
