MODEL HISTORY

The Story of the Boulevard M109R B.O.S.S.

Suzuki introduced this blacked-out special edition of the Boulevard M109R for the 2014 model year, expanding the M109R line with a more sinister, monochrome look that Suzuki officially describes as B.O.S.S. — Blacked Out Special Suzuki. The package took the existing M109R performance cruiser and gave it a darker visual theme, replacing much of the bright trim and chrome treatment associated with standard cruiser styling. That made the B.O.S.S. version stand out as the moodier, more custom-looking member of the family without changing the core identity of the model.

The underlying M109R itself had already established Suzuki’s place in the big-bore cruiser segment when it arrived in the mid-2000s, but the B.O.S.S. edition gave the nameplate a fresh visual angle that resonated with riders who wanted factory-backed blacked-out styling. Over time, Suzuki kept the B.O.S.S. concept in the Boulevard range and continued to offer the M109R B.O.S.S. in later model years, including recent lineup years and accessory listings that extend through the 2025 model year. Because it has remained an ongoing trim of the M109R rather than a separately discontinued-and-revived nameplate, it is best understood as a continuous production variant within the Boulevard family.
