MODEL HISTORY

The Story of the Scram 411

This nameplate was introduced in 2022 as a scrambler-style crossover built around Royal Enfield’s Himalayan-derived LS410 platform. It was positioned as a more road-friendly, everyday alternative to the brand’s adventure model, while still keeping the upright stance, long-travel suspension feel, and go-anywhere character that define the Himalayan family. Royal Enfield launched it in India in March 2022 and described it as a more urbanized take on the Himalayan, aimed at riders who wanted a lighter, simpler, and more playful motorcycle for commuting, back roads, and occasional rough-surface use.

In Royal Enfield’s own materials, the motorcycle was presented as a blend of scrambler attitude and accessible adventure DNA rather than a pure off-road machine. That helped distinguish it from the heavier, more purpose-built Himalayan. The design emphasized reduced bodywork, a cleaner silhouette, and a more casual crossover identity, which made it stand out in Royal Enfield’s lineup as a bridge between the brand’s retro roadsters and its adventure models.

The nameplate remained associated with the 411 cc platform for several years and later made way for the Scram 440 update in Royal Enfield’s lineup. Because the final model year for the original 411 version cannot be verified with confidence from official sources alone, the last year is left open-ended here.
