MODEL HISTORY

The Story of the INT 650

This modern middleweight twin was introduced for the 2019 model year, with its global debut in late 2018 as part of a new 650cc two-cylinder family. It marked a major turning point for the marque, which had not produced a twin-cylinder motorcycle in decades. The machine drew heavily on the company’s historic Interceptor lineage of the 1960s and 1970s, but it was not a retro reissue of an earlier bike; instead, it was a fresh design built around a new parallel-twin engine and a modern chassis. The result was a roadster aimed at riders who wanted classic styling, approachable performance and everyday usability in a relatively affordable package.

The nameplate quickly became one of the most important models in the brand’s modern revival. It helped broaden the company’s appeal beyond its long-established single-cylinder models and gave the lineup a more global, enthusiast-focused identity. Early launches in North America and other major markets were followed by wider rollout during 2018, establishing the bike as a core part of the company’s international strategy. Over time, the nameplate has remained in continuous production and has been updated in step with market and regulatory changes, but its role has stayed consistent: a characterful, accessible twin that bridges vintage-inspired design with contemporary road-bike manners.
