EDV

Rivian’s EDV nameplate began as the company’s first commercial product, developed with Amazon as an all-electric last-mile delivery van. The first production vans went into service in 2022, marking the start of a new Rivian commercial-vehicle program built around fleet use rather than retail ownership. Early on, the EDV was closely associated with Amazon deliveries, and it became the foundation for Rivian’s broader commercial van strategy. In 2025, Rivian opened the platform to other business customers under the Rivian Commercial Van name, but the EDV remains the historic designation for the original delivery van program. The vehicle is significant as Rivian’s entry into large-scale commercial transportation and as one of the most visible electric delivery vans deployed in North America.
