The Story of the EV-LSV

This electric, street-legal mid-size utility variant appeared in Polaris’s RANGER lineup for the 2010 model year and remained in production through 2014. It was positioned as the low-speed-vehicle version of the RANGER EV, designed to give campuses, resorts, municipalities, and other controlled environments a compact Polaris utility vehicle that could be registered for road use where local regulations allowed. Official Polaris service literature identifies 2010 as the first model year for the RANGER EV LSV, and later Polaris documentation continues to reference 2012–2014 service coverage for the same nameplate, confirming a single continuous production run. After 2014, Polaris shifted to the RANGER EV/ETX naming used for the next generation, so this original EV-LSV designation is best understood as the early street-legal chapter of Polaris’s electric RANGER story. It is remembered as part of Polaris’s broader move into practical electric mobility, especially for fleet, campus, and light-duty transportation use.
