Prowler

This retro-styled two-seat roadster was introduced as a Plymouth for the 1997 model year and became one of the most distinctive late-1990s American specialty cars. Its hot-rod-inspired look, exposed front wheels, and long-nose proportions made it stand out immediately from mainstream production vehicles, and it was positioned more as an image car and enthusiast collectible than a volume seller. After the initial 1997 launch, the Plymouth version did not appear for 1998, then returned for the 1999 model year and continued through 2000 under the Plymouth badge. When Plymouth was discontinued, the same nameplate design carried on as a Chrysler for the 2001-2002 model years, extending the Prowler’s run beyond the end of the Plymouth brand. Because the nameplate had a gap and later resumed, it should be treated as having multiple production periods rather than a single uninterrupted run.
