MODEL HISTORY

The Story of the Stelvio 1200 8V NTX ABS

This adventure-touring nameplate entered Moto Guzzi’s range as the updated 8-valve evolution of the Stelvio family, which was launched in 2010 and sold in 2011 model-year form as the NTX ABS version. The NTX was the more travel-focused interpretation of the Stelvio, aimed at long-distance riding and light off-pavement use, while the ABS-equipped specification reflected the brand’s push to add more safety and touring convenience to its big-bore dual-sport line. It was built around Moto Guzzi’s 1,151 cc transverse V-twin and remained part of the Stelvio premium range during the early 2010s. By 2014, official pricing documentation listed this exact variant as phased out, indicating the end of its production run. The model is best remembered as the most heavily equipped version of the first-generation Stelvio, combining the revised 8V engine update with the NTX’s adventure-ready hardware and factory ABS.
