MODEL HISTORY

The Story of the Ninja H2

Introduced for the 2015 model year, this supercharged hypersport motorcycle marked a dramatic expansion of Kawasaki’s Ninja performance line. It was developed as a street-legal counterpart to the track-focused H2R, bringing the brand’s in-house supercharger technology and a new emphasis on extreme acceleration, top-tier electronics, and flagship-level prestige to a production road bike. The model arrived as part of a broader H2 family that quickly became one of Kawasaki’s most recognizable modern performance nameplates.

From the start, it stood apart from earlier Ninja models by focusing on a unique blend of straight-line force and high-end chassis hardware rather than following the usual liter-bike formula. That positioning helped make it an instant halo product for Kawasaki and a reference point for modern supercharged motorcycles. Over time, the nameplate expanded into related variants within the Ninja H2 family, but the original road-going model itself began in 2015 and remains part of Kawasaki’s lineup history as an ongoing production nameplate rather than a discontinued-and-revived one.
