MODEL HISTORY

The Story of the MULE PRO-MX

This midsize MULE nameplate was introduced for the 2019 model year, announced in mid-2018 as a new addition to Kawasaki’s utility side-by-side lineup. Kawasaki positioned it as a two-passenger machine sized between the larger MULE PRO-FX/FXT family and the smaller MULE SX range, aiming to blend practical work capability with more agile handling for mixed work-and-recreation use. The initial launch included multiple trims, including standard and EPS-equipped versions, and the model quickly became the company’s mid-capacity MULE offering.

From the beginning, the nameplate has been sold as part of Kawasaki’s long-running MULE utility series rather than as a standalone recreational model, emphasizing versatility, cargo usefulness and broad appeal to property owners, farmers and light-duty utility buyers. Over time, the line expanded into additional trim and equipment combinations, but the core identity remained the same: a compact midsize utility side x side with a two-seat layout and a work-focused mission.

There is no evidence of a discontinuation or revival gap in the model’s history. It appears to have remained in continuous production from its 2019 introduction through the current model years.
