MODEL HISTORY

The Story of the M35

The nameplate was introduced for the 2006 model year as part of Infiniti’s redesigned M sedan line, which shifted the brand’s mid-luxury performance sedan farther upmarket. The M35 was the V6 version of that second-generation M, positioned as a driver-focused alternative to the larger V8-powered M45 and offered in rear-wheel drive and later all-wheel-drive forms. It shared the same basic platform and performance-oriented character as the rest of the M family, but the M35 became the volume-oriented entry in the range thanks to its balance of luxury, technology, and everyday usability. Over its run, the sedan evolved with mid-cycle updates and powertrain changes, including a more powerful 3.5-liter V6 in later years, before the entire M lineup was renamed for 2011. The M35 nameplate itself did not continue into that rebadged era; Infiniti moved to M37 and M56 designations, while the M35 badge was effectively retired after the 2010 model year.
