The Story of the NC750X

Honda’s NC-series crossover was expanded for the 2014 model year, when the NC750X nameplate appeared as a revised version of the earlier NC700X/NC series concept. Honda described the NC range as a practical, fuel-efficient large motorcycle intended to broaden the appeal of bigger bikes, with the line first launched in Japan in 2012 and then developed into the 750cc-era models for 2014. The NC750X was positioned as the adventure-leaning member of that family, combining everyday usability with upright riding comfort and light touring ability.

From the beginning, the nameplate has been associated with Honda’s emphasis on sensible packaging and low running costs rather than outright performance. That identity has remained central through later updates. In 2015, Honda introduced a reinvigorated NC750X with styling and component revisions, and it continued to evolve in subsequent years with updates aimed at improving practicality and rider comfort. Honda’s 2024 European lineup announcement again identified the NC750X as an active current model, showing that the nameplate remains in production rather than ending at a fixed model year.

The NC750X is best understood as part of a continuous NC-series lineage rather than a discontinued-and-revived nameplate. Its history reflects Honda’s broader effort to create approachable middleweight motorcycles that appeal to commuting, leisure riding, and light adventure use, with the model becoming one of the most recognizable entries in Honda’s modern crossover lineup.
