The Story of the CBR929RR

This North American supersport nameplate was the fifth-generation evolution of Honda’s CBR900RR and arrived for the 2000 model year. It marked a major update for the series, bringing a fully redesigned engine and chassis, fuel injection, and a bigger-displacement 929cc layout while keeping the lightweight, rider-focused character that had defined the line since the early 1990s. The model was sold through the 2001 model year, making its run relatively brief but important in the Fireblade lineage. For 2002, Honda moved the series to a new 954cc version, so this badge represents the short-lived transitional generation between the original 900cc-era bikes and the later 954cc machines.
