The Road Glide ST arrived for the 2022 model year as Harley-Davidson’s performance-focused take on the shark-nose touring bagger formula. Built around the Road Glide’s frame-mounted fairing and long-distance touring layout, it added a more aggressive, sport-oriented character with dark finishes, solo-seat styling, black-and-bronze accents, and the Milwaukee-Eight 117 powertrain. The result was a factory bagger aimed at riders who wanted the Road Glide’s wind protection and highway composure, but with a sharper attitude and more street-biased presence.
For 2022 and 2023, the Road Glide ST sat in Harley-Davidson’s Touring family as a distinct performance variant rather than a full redesign of the core Road Glide line. Its identity was defined less by luxury-touring polish and more by a stripped-down, muscle-bagger look inspired by Harley’s performance and racing image. The model’s fixed fairing and large touring chassis remained central to its appeal, but the ST treatment gave it a leaner, more purposeful feel that connected with riders looking for a factory custom with real long-haul capability.
After the 2023 model year, Harley-Davidson shifted the ST badge upward into the CVO lineup with the CVO Road Glide ST, leaving the standard Road Glide ST as a short-run nameplate. That makes the original Road Glide ST a relatively brief but notable chapter in Harley-Davidson touring history: a modern performance bagger introduced to sharpen the Road Glide formula before the company reworked the badge into a higher-end CVO expression.
