This Sportster-derived factory custom arrived for the 2018 model year as a more upright, retro-styled sibling to the standard Forty-Eight. Harley-Davidson positioned it around the same low-slung peanut-tank attitude and 1200cc Evolution V-twin character that defined the line, but added taller Tallboy handlebars, a blacked-out custom look, and throwback 1970s-inspired graphics and trim to give the bike a slightly different stance and feel. It was aimed at riders who wanted the Forty-Eight’s bulldog silhouette with a more relaxed reach and a stronger nod to classic custom culture. The model remained part of Harley-Davidson’s Sportster family through the 2022 model year, after which it no longer appeared in the brand’s lineup. As a result, it is best understood as a single continuous production run from 2018 to 2022, rather than a revived or repeated nameplate.
