MODEL HISTORY

The Story of the FLHTCUI w/Sidecar / FLHTCUI w/Sidecar Anniversary

Harley-Davidson introduced this sidecar-equipped Ultra Classic Electra Glide variant for the 1998 model year, identifying it in VIN tables as the factory-paired touring model with the Ultra sidecar. It belonged to the long-running Touring family and was aimed at riders who wanted Harley’s full-dress touring experience with an integrated sidecar rather than an aftermarket add-on. The sidecar setup carried through the early Twin Cam era and remained part of Harley-Davidson’s cataloged touring lineup for more than a decade. A notable milestone came in 2003, when the lineup included a 100th Anniversary edition that paired the motorcycle with anniversary-themed sidecar equipment. By the 2006 to 2010 model-year VIN breakdowns, Harley-Davidson still listed the sidecar version as an official touring model code, but it no longer appeared in the 2011 Touring model tables, indicating the end of this continuous production run after the 2010 model year.
