MODEL HISTORY

The Story of the Electra Glide Classic 103

The Electra Glide Classic 103 represented the late-life, Twin Cam 103-era version of Harley-Davidson’s long-running Electra Glide Classic touring dresser. Harley-Davidson’s own touring history places the Electra Glide Classic’s introduction in 1986, but the 103-powered version is documented as a newer update for the 2012 model year, when the Classic gained the larger air-cooled Twin Cam 103 engine and six-speed Cruise Drive transmission. That configuration carried into 2013, where it remained a full-dress, long-distance touring model with the familiar Batwing fairing, hard saddlebags, Tour-Pak luggage, and integrated audio and instrumentation. Harley-Davidson parts documentation shows the FLHTC Electra Glide Classic model run ending after 2013, making this 103-equipped form a relatively short final chapter for the Classic nameplate before later Touring lineup changes reshaped the family.
