Aspire

This nameplate has two distinct Ford production eras. It first appeared in North America for the 1994 model year as a small front-wheel-drive subcompact, positioned as a practical entry-level car for buyers wanting an inexpensive Ford-badged sedan or hatchback. That original run ended after the 1997 model year. Ford later revived the Aspire name in India in 2015 as the sedan version of the Figo family, initially launched as the Figo Aspire and later marketed simply as Aspire. In its Indian form, it was a compact sedan aimed at value-conscious buyers, with Ford updating the model through a mid-cycle refresh in 2018 and later BS6-era revisions. Ford’s 2021 restructuring announcement said sales of current products including the Aspire would cease once dealer inventories were sold, bringing the Indian production/sales chapter to a close. Because the nameplate returned after a long gap, it should be treated as a revived model with multiple production periods rather than one continuous run.
