Ducati introduced this naked sportbike line for the 2009 model year, when the original Streetfighter 1100 brought superbike-derived hardware into a more stripped-back, street-focused format. It quickly became one of Ducati’s defining modern performance-naked motorcycles, known for its aggressive styling and for translating the company’s superbike character into a less faired, more upright package. Ducati later expanded the range with smaller-displacement variants, but the original nameplate’s first production chapter ran through the early 2010s before the model line disappeared.
The nameplate then returned in a new era for 2020 with the Streetfighter V4, a direct continuation of the “Fight Formula” concept but based on Ducati’s Panigale V4 platform. That revival marked a clear break from the earlier 1098/1100-based machines and established the Streetfighter family as a contemporary high-performance naked line in Ducati’s range. Ducati has since continued developing the family with additional derivatives, but the Streetfighter name itself now spans two distinct production periods: the original 2009-era model and the later V4 revival beginning in 2020.
