A notable later-era shift came in the mid-2010s, when Yamaha described the machine sold in North America and some other markets as a closely related twin to the YZ250FX, adding enduro-specific equipment such as lights and other trail-ready details while retaining its performance-first character. The model remained a key part of Yamaha’s off-road lineup and continued in production into the 2026 model year, making it one of the longest-running modern Yamaha enduro nameplates.
