This compact electric SUV was introduced by VinFast in Vietnam on September 29, 2023, as the company’s B-segment family-oriented EV offering. It marked one of VinFast’s first mainstream smaller crossovers, following the brand’s earlier larger VF 8 and VF 9 launches. The vehicle was developed with Torino Design and presented as part of VinFast’s broader push to build a full EV lineup across multiple segments.
The nameplate entered the market as a single continuous production line and has not been known to disappear and return under the same badge. After its Vietnamese debut, it was rolled out into additional export markets as VinFast expanded internationally, including right-hand-drive market plans and later launches in regions such as the Philippines and India. In VinFast’s lineup, it sits below the larger VF 7, VF 8 and VF 9, and is aimed at buyers looking for a smaller electric SUV with a more practical urban footprint.
