Triumph first brought this touring nameplate into its modern Hinckley-era lineup for the 1991 model year, beginning with the Trophy 900 and Trophy 1200. Those early machines established the model as Triumph’s long-distance, fully faired touring option during the brand’s early-1990s comeback. The original run continued through the 2004 model year, after which the nameplate disappeared from Triumph’s range.
Triumph later revived the Trophy for the 2013 model year with an all-new 1215cc generation, including the Trophy and Trophy SE. This second production period shifted the nameplate into a more modern sport-touring role while keeping the same basic emphasis on comfort, weather protection and serious road-trip capability. Because the Trophy badge was used in two separate production eras, the nameplate should be treated as having multiple production periods rather than one continuous run.
