MODEL HISTORY

The Story of the Cybertruck

Tesla’s stainless-steel pickup was unveiled in 2019 as a radical departure from conventional truck design and was positioned as a full-size electric utility vehicle with a distinctly futuristic look. After a long development and reservation period, Tesla began first deliveries in November 2023, launching the nameplate into the market as a 2024 model-year vehicle. The truck marked Tesla’s entry into the consumer pickup segment and quickly became one of the brand’s most attention-grabbing products because of its angular body, exposed stainless-steel styling, and focus on utility and durability. Unlike Tesla’s earlier passenger-car nameplates, this model was introduced as a high-profile truck rather than a sedan or crossover, giving the company a new body style in its lineup. It remains in production, so there is no final model year to record yet. There is no separate earlier production run or discontinued-and-revived history for this nameplate.
