MODEL HISTORY

The Story of the RM60

This small-capacity RM nameplate first appeared in Suzuki’s motocross lineup for the 1979 model year as an entry-level youth racer. The original run lasted through the early 1980s, with model-year references showing it in production from 1979 to 1983. After a long gap, Suzuki revived the nameplate for 2003 as a new beginner-focused motocross machine, making use of the then-current lightweight 60cc youth-bike formula. Because the badge was used in two clearly separate eras, the history should be treated as a discontinued nameplate that later returned, not one continuous production run.
