This nameplate was Suzuki’s export-market badge for the first-generation Cultus/Swift family, a small front-wheel-drive subcompact introduced to several overseas markets in the mid-1980s. In those markets, it appeared as a practical economy hatchback rather than a standalone Japanese domestic model, and it shared its basic engineering with other regional badgings of the same car. The early cars established the formula: light weight, simple packaging, and a focus on efficient urban transportation, with later versions adding sportier and more specialized trim levels in some markets. The best-documented production run for this badge spans the 1985 through 1988 model years, after which the nameplate was phased out as Suzuki’s global small-car naming evolved.
