In practice, the LW200 served as the four-cylinder, mid-grade wagon in the brand’s midsize family, positioned as a practical cargo-hauler with Saturn’s familiar polymer body panels and spaceframe construction, plus the flexible packaging that made the L-Series one of the more utility-focused American midsize entries of its era.
The model carried through the 2001, 2002, and 2003 model years. During that run, Saturn refined the L-Series with equipment and appearance updates, but the basic LW200 identity remained tied to the same wagon body style and the four-cylinder configuration. It shared its platform and overall design language with the rest of the L-Series, which was Saturn’s first midsize front-wheel-drive line and a significant step up from the brand’s original compact S-Series cars.
For 2004, Saturn dropped the LW200 badge when the wagon lineup was folded into the L300 naming structure, so this specific nameplate did not continue beyond the 2003 model year.
