The Story of the V7 III Special SE

This Special Edition variant belonged to the third-generation small-block V7 family and appeared as a market-specific special version of the classic roadster rather than a clean-sheet redesign. It was introduced for the 2018 model year, alongside the broader V7 III range, and kept the familiar formula that made the line popular: a transverse 90-degree twin, shaft drive, spoke wheels, and a traditional Moto Guzzi look centered on chrome details and upright ergonomics. The SE version added a more distinctive visual treatment to the standard Special recipe, giving the bike a slightly more exclusive presentation while staying close to the model’s heritage-oriented character. In Moto Guzzi’s 2020 V7 III lineup, the Special remained part of the range, but the V7 III generation was ultimately replaced by the next V7 family, which marked the end of this particular run. Enthusiasts generally view the Special as the most classic member of the V7 III group, positioned for riders who wanted the most traditional appearance in a mainstream, accessible Guzzi roadster.
