MODEL HISTORY

The Story of the Stelvio 1200 8V NTX

Moto Guzzi introduced this adventure-touring nameplate in 2010 as the more rugged, off-road-focused version of the Stelvio family, alongside the standard Stelvio 1200 8V. It was part of the company’s move to refresh its big transverse-V-twin lineup around the new eight-valve engine, and it quickly became the most touring- and travel-oriented interpretation of the Stelvio concept. Early versions emphasized long-distance capability and rough-road practicality, while later updates refined the package with revised bodywork and touring equipment. The model carried the Stelvio name through the mid-2010s, with the original production run ending in 2016. Enthusiasts tend to remember it as one of Moto Guzzi’s most characterful large-bore adventure bikes, combining the brand’s shaft-driven V-twin layout with a distinctly Italian take on the big-enduro formula.
