Clubman

The Clubman name began in 1969 on the classic Mini, when British Leyland introduced a redesigned, more contemporary-looking variant to give the car a more mature image. The first Clubman was offered as a saloon, followed by the Clubman Estate, and it became part of the classic Mini story through the 1970s and into the early 1980s. After a long gap, the nameplate was revived in 2007 for the modern MINI range, this time as a larger estate-style model with the brand’s signature split rear doors and a more practical, premium positioning. That second-era Clubman grew into one of MINI’s most distinctive body styles, and it received special editions over the years before the line reached its end with the Final Edition released in March 2023. Because the nameplate appeared in two clearly separated production periods, its history is best understood as a classic-era original and a later revival rather than one continuous run.
