SLC-Class

This roadster nameplate was introduced in 2016 as the renamed successor to Mercedes-Benz’s long-running SLK, bringing the compact two-seat open-top model into the brand’s new naming structure. Rather than launching an entirely new concept, the 2016 car refreshed the existing formula with updated styling, improved equipment and revised engineering while keeping the familiar retractable hardtop roadster character that had defined the SLK family since 1996. Mercedes-Benz positioned it as the entry point to its sports-car range, below the larger SL and alongside the brand’s more performance-focused halo models. The nameplate retained the model’s traditional emphasis on everyday usability, comfort and open-air touring, which helped make it one of the best-known compact luxury roadsters of its era. Production ended in 2020, closing the final chapter of the compact Mercedes-Benz roadster line that had evolved from the original SLK into the SLC badge.
