This model was a Mercedes-Benz medium-duty tractor built by Mercedes-Benz do Brasil and aimed in part at export markets, including the United States, where it was marketed as a Class 7 truck. Mercedes-Benz’s 1984 annual report says the LPS 1525 was newly added to the Brazilian product line and would mainly be sold in the U.S.A. Later parts and fitment references consistently place the nameplate in the 1986 to 1990 model-year range, which is the strongest evidence for its marketed U.S. run. The LPS 1525 belonged to the company’s “LP-series” cab-over truck family and used the more powerful turbodiesel specification associated with the heavier end of that line, giving it a place above the lighter LP models and alongside other export-oriented Mercedes-Benz trucks of the era.
