The Story of the Ninja 1100

This nameplate began in 2025 as Kawasaki’s updated sport-touring Ninja entry, launched for the 2025 model year as the Ninja 1100SX in standard and SE trims. Kawasaki described it as the fifth generation of its Ninja sport-touring platform, created to blend supersport-inspired character with everyday road use, commuting, and long-distance riding. The update brought a larger 1,099 cc inline-four and a refreshed package of touring and rider-assist features, marking a clear evolution of Kawasaki’s established middleweight-to-liter-class sport-tourer formula.

The model sits within the broader Ninja family, but it is positioned differently from the focused supersport machines: it emphasizes comfort, usable performance, and versatility rather than track-only intent. Kawasaki’s own product material and press releases present the 1100SX as a modern continuation of the brand’s sport-touring lineage, with the SE version adding premium chassis and braking components. In Japan, Kawasaki has also identified the Ninja 1100SX as a domestic-sales model, confirming its place in the company’s current lineup.

Because this nameplate was introduced in 2025 and remains in production, there is no confirmed end year yet.
