This nameplate was introduced for the 2006 model year as part of a GM-and-Isuzu jointly developed midsize pickup program for North America. It was the range-topping crew cab variant in the lineup and was positioned above the smaller-engine version, giving Isuzu a single-year V6-powered truck offering in the U.S. market. The truck shared its basic architecture with the contemporary GM midsize pickup family, but it carried Isuzu-specific badging and trim and was marketed through Isuzu’s North American sales network. In practice, it represented Isuzu’s attempt to stay in the U.S. pickup segment after the company had shifted away from its older Hombre-era compact trucks and before the brand withdrew from North American SUV sales. The nameplate did not continue beyond the 2006 model year, making it a short-lived but notable entry in Isuzu’s U.S. history.
