This nameplate appeared for the 2013 model year as Infiniti updated the FX performance crossover lineup with a 3.7-liter V6 in place of the earlier 3.5-liter engine. In Infiniti’s product planning, the FX37 replaced the FX35 badge rather than launching an all-new vehicle; the crossover itself traced back to the original FX family introduced in 2003, one of the earliest luxury crossovers to lean heavily into sports-car-style proportions and road-focused handling. For 2013, the FX37 was sold as the V6 member of the FX range alongside the V8-powered FX50, with rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive configurations offered in some markets. The model remained closely associated with Infiniti’s “crossover coupe” identity, a design language that helped the FX stand apart from more traditional SUVs. The FX37 badge was short-lived: Infiniti renamed the FX line to QX70 for the 2014 model year, so the FX37 nameplate itself existed for a single continuous model-year run only. Enthusiasts remember it as the final evolution of the original FX formula before Infiniti’s later nomenclature change.
