MODEL HISTORY

The Story of the VT750 (Shadow Phantom 750)

Honda introduced the Shadow Phantom 750 as a dark, minimalist cruiser at the end of 2009 for the 2010 model year, adding a bobber-influenced member to the long-running Shadow family. The bike’s identity centered on blacked-out styling, a low-slung stance, and an approachable large-displacement V-twin character rather than flashy chrome or touring trim. In Honda’s Japanese product archive, the Shadow Phantom 750 appears in 2009, and Honda later carried the name into the U.S. market as the Shadow Phantom, where it remained part of the cruiser lineup with ongoing updates and special-year revisions. By the mid-2010s Honda was again promoting the Shadow Phantom as a returning model for 2015, and the nameplate is still offered today, so there is no definitive final model year to record. Enthusiast appeal has always come from its understated custom look and easygoing cruiser format, making it one of Honda’s more distinctive middleweight Shadows.
