The Story of the TRX350FM

Honda’s TRX350FM was the 4x4 Rancher variant of Honda’s 350cc utility ATV line, introduced for the 2000 model year as part of the original Rancher family. It shared its basic platform with related TRX350 FE, TE, and TM versions, giving buyers a durable work-focused machine with selectable four-wheel drive in a straightforward, traditional layout. In Honda’s ATV lineup, the Rancher name quickly became associated with practical, midsize utility riding rather than pure recreation.

The TRX350FM remained part of the Rancher 350 range through the mid-2000s, appearing in Honda manuals and parts catalogs for the 2000 through 2006 model years. For 2004-2006, Honda consolidated the Rancher family into the TRX350TE/TM/FE/FM four-model lineup, with the FM continuing as the manual-shift 4x4 version. After 2006, Honda moved the Rancher nameplate forward with a new-generation platform and different model designations, so the TRX350FM itself ended as a distinct nameplate in the 2006 model year. Enthusiasts often remember it as one of the most useful and long-lived versions of the original Rancher 350 series, valued for its simple, dependable utility focus.
