This short-lived Harley-Davidson nameplate marked the beginning of the Dyna era. The first model to carry it was the 1991 FXDB Dyna Glide Sturgis, introduced as a new Big Twin cruiser with an all-new frame and rubber-mounted engine isolation aimed at improving stability and ride comfort while keeping the traditional Harley twin-shock look. Harley-Davidson later followed it with a 1992 FXDB Dyna Glide Daytona, a limited-edition model tied to Daytona Bike Week. Together, these two motorcycles established the early identity of the Dyna line before the family expanded in the mid-1990s into better-known Dyna variants such as the Super Glide, Wide Glide, and Low Rider. The early Dyna Glide models are significant because they bridged classic Harley styling with a more modern chassis approach, helping define the factory’s performance-cruiser direction for the decade that followed.
