FLH

FLH was Harley-Davidson’s long-running Big Twin touring designation for the company’s full-size road motorcycles in the postwar era. It emerged as part of the FL family and became closely associated with Harley’s heavyweight touring line as the platform evolved through the Panhead and Shovelhead years. Over time, the badge appeared on key touring variants such as Duo Glide, Electra Glide, and later Heritage and Classic-style versions, reflecting the model’s role as the brand’s traditional long-distance motorcycle rather than a short-lived special. Harley-Davidson’s own history materials describe FLH as one of the core model designations used on its Big Twin motorcycles for decades, with the basic FLH chassis remaining largely consistent until the line was discontinued in 1984, with some 1985 fleet production.
