MODEL HISTORY

The Story of the LT9522

This heavy-duty Ford Louisville-series tractor was part of the company’s late-1990s Class 8 conventionally styled truck lineup. It belonged to the Louisville 9500 family, which represented Ford’s long-haul and vocational heavy-truck offering before the brand exited the heavy-duty truck business. Available by at least the 1997 model year, this variant was built as a highway tractor and was sold alongside related Louisville and Aeromax models during the final years of Ford’s heavy-truck era. Documentation and parts references show it continuing into the 1998 model year, after which the line ended as Ford’s heavy-duty truck production transitioned away from the Ford brand. The truck is associated with the larger Louisville/L-series lineage that had been a major part of Ford’s commercial-vehicle history for decades, and it is remembered today as one of the last Ford-badged Class 8 conventionals.
