This Ford heavy-duty conventional tractor was part of the Aeromax 9500 family, the aerodynamic “new design” version of Ford’s Louisville/Aeromax heavy-truck line. It appears in commercial parts and chassis references as an Aeromax 9500 application for the 1996–1998 model years, and Ford’s own VIN/model listings include A9522 among its truck nameplates. The truck sat at the top end of Ford’s medium-to-heavy vocational and highway lineup, with a long-hood, set-back-axle conventional layout aimed at regional and over-the-road use. In Ford’s truck lineup of the mid-1990s, the Aeromax name represented the more aerodynamic tractor-oriented branch, while related Louisville models covered other heavy-duty configurations. The nameplate’s run was short because Ford exited the heavy-truck business at the end of the decade, after which the remaining HN80 truck lineage continued under other branding.
